SUMMARY:BASIC HEALTH & SAFETY
DESCRIPTION:The Seafish Basic Health and Safety course aims to provide new entrants to the commercial fishing industry the knowledge and skills required to work safely onboard a commercial fishing vessel. It is a mandatory requirement for everyone before working on a commercial fishing vessel. \nThe course includes an understanding of the language used in the industry\, individual roles and responsibilities\, the dangers of the job and which skills are required to operate safely on board. \n2 Years after completing the Basic Health and Safety course\, all candidates must then attend the Seafish Safety Awareness and Risk Assessment course. Both of these courses are a legal requirement to work in the Commercial Fishing Industry.
