MCA Deck Certificates of Competency
MCA Certificates of Competency (CoC’s) are internationally recognised qualifications for Masters and other Officers of the Watch in line with the requirements of the STCW convention. Each one has qualifying requirements that you need to meet before you can apply to the MCA for a Notice of Eligibility (NOE) for an Oral Examination. The qualifying requirements are a combination of seagoing experience and training as well as medical fitness.

It meets all STCW conditions and is a requirement for unlimited MCA Certificates of Competence. The GMDSS GOC permits the holder to operate the radio installation on board any vessel operating in any Sea Area, with additional responsibility for equipment testing and undertaking any emergency communications.

SEAFISH FIRE FIGHTING
Western Maritime Training Crownhill Fort, Crownhill Fort Rd, Plymouth, Devon, United KingdomSeafish Firefighting course is a mandatory one-day safety course for commercial fishermen covering fire prevention, marine fire principles, and practical extinguisher use. It is required by the Seafish Industry Authority alongside sea survival, first aid, and health and safety for new crew members.
