Leading Maritime Training Centre
At Western Maritime Training, we’re proud of our first-class maritime training facilities. Based in the ocean city of Plymouth, we have decades of experience in our field and are dedicated to delivering high-quality courses and training programmes for the maritime industry.
Our facilities feature state-of-the-art equipment and high-quality teaching from experienced instructors, with our courses carefully designed to provide our students with the education and training they need to succeed and progress in their maritime career.
Radio Training
The GMDSS radio suite in our training centre is home to a range of brand-new touchscreen workstations, used for our ROC and GOC courses.
Simulator Training
We have our own, in-house full mission bridge simulator, in addition to three smaller fully interlinked bridges. We use this during the practical element of our NAEST course.
Engineering Workshop
We have an on-site dedicated workshop, complete with a working marine diesel engine for teaching our MCA 30-hour Diesel Engine AEC courses and Efficient Deck Hand certificate.
Fire Training School
Our STCW fire courses are delivered by our majority-owned partner organisation STCW Fire Training Ltd and held at the training site in Buckfastleigh, in Devon.
Swimming Pool
We use the Life Centre swimming pool in Plymouth, which has state-of-the-art facilities and a 5m world-class standard diving pool. Transport is provided to and from the Life Centre.
Our Training Centre
Based in the north of Plymouth, our training centre is the hub for all of our courses. We never outsource our training.
How to Find Us
Our training centre is located in Plymouth, Devon. Located 2 minutes from the A38 Expressway, we are located in a superb quiet training environment with secure free parking. A host of amenities and accommodation options are nearby. We’re easily accessible by road, with the and if you’re travelling to us by train or coach, both stations are a short bus or taxi ride away.
