General Trading Terms and Conditions – Policy

Purchase of training through our online website, Corporate invoicing, manual card payment, cheques or cash will be accepted only in accordance with these terms and conditions described here. The terms and conditions stated below, forms a contract between Western Maritime Training Ltd (the Company) and the recipient (Client) of this documentation irrespective of whether the payee is the direct recipient of training or on behalf of a client, employee or other third party.  By ticking the” I agree to the terms and conditions” box on checkout, you are agreeing in full to our terms and conditions as laid out below.

For non-corporate customers, Western Maritime Training Ltd reserves the right to refuse entry to any training course for students that we have not received cleared payment for. In any event no certification will be issued to the client, its representatives, agents or individuals until full settlement is made. The Company accepts no liability for any costs whether directly or indirectly arising to the Student or Client in our refusal to issue certification or refuse entry in these circumstances.

Our course start times are promulgated in our joining instructions and we withhold the right to refuse entry on to course anybody who arrives unduly late or we know, or suspect is under the influence of drugs or alcohol or any other substance deemed detrimental to the safety of the individual or others, or where such a case arises during a course.  In such a case full forfeiture of any fees paid will apply.

Although we will endeavour to assist, it is the candidate’s or employer’s responsibility to ensure that all pre-requisite certification, documentation and/or identification is held by the candidate and can be provided before we undertake training or issue certification. Candidates unable to provide this information will not be able to start/complete any training and no refund will be made.

These terms and conditions will apply, irrespective of the settlement due date annotated on any invoicing, settlement request, online payment date or manual payment.

Guarantee of Certification

Many of our courses that we provide are examined and /or assessed by criteria as laid out by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency and International Maritime Organisation. It is Students/Candidates own responsibility to ensure that they have, where required, the suitable pre-requisite knowledge and (where appropriate) existing certification to give them the greatest advantage in reaching the required standard for the issuance of certification. Failure in examination or assessment will not be accepted as grounds for re-imbursement in part or full for training or related extraneous costs accrued.

Course Cancellation and Refund

Course cancellation of 10 working days or more (Mon-Fri inclusive) will be eligible for a full refund

Where we have received cleared funds or, at our earliest opportunity when funds have not cleared. Candidates or their nominated Company may transfer bookings before 10 working days at no cost.

Cancellation less than 7 working days will incur a 50% administration fee

Non-attendance without the production of a signed Doctors note of authority will result in full forfeiture of any fees paid.

Western Maritime Training Course Cancellation

Where the Company is required to cancel a course for whatever reason, we will notify you on your contact number or email as given to us. We will leave a message where appropriate. We will not give further telephone notifications. Any costs incurred by the candidate to attend or incurred for our training will not be reimbursed.

Where WMT cancels a course, we will offer the candidate a new training date and/or venue. Where this is not acceptable or possible, a full refund will be made to the person, company or body that made the original payment.

Refunds that have been made by card will only be assigned back to the card of issuance. Payments by cash or cheque will be refunded by cheque or BACS at our discretion to the payee. Payments by corporate account will be returned by the method requested.
