Seafish 5-day Navigation and Bridge Watchkeeping
About This Course
This course is for skippers of vessels less than 16.5m. The course forms part of the under Seafish Under 16.5m Skippers Certificate.
The Seafish 5 day Navigation and Watchkeeping course is intended for anyone taking a navigational watch and skippers of vessels less than 16.5m operating beyond 20nm miles of a safe haven.

Course Aim
To provide the skills associated with keeping a safe navigational watch.

- Rules of the road
- Principles of safe navigation
- Uses and limitations of electronic navigational aids
- IALA buoyage system
- Lights, shapes and sounds in navigation
- Vessel emergency procedures
Exam
On-going practical assessment
On day 5 there is a test which is both multiple choice and short answer questions and a Chartwork Assessment

Course Cost
£700 *If you are an experienced commercial fisherman with all your basic safety courses, Seafish will currently fund this course.
Pre-Course Requirements
You must already have the basic safety courses, including Safety Awareness before you can attend this course.
